With the world seeming to have devolved into such chaos in the last few years, your instinct might be to tune out and shun all media as the bus races for the cliff. It’s fine to take a break from the bedlam bombarding you from all sides and to distance yourself from the hate, anger, and corruption that is wearing you down and exhausting your spirit. Go ahead, take a breath, recharge, focus and then get back in the fight for what is right and decent for you and all of those who share this world with you.
The instigators of the chaos - both real and fabricated want to wear you down. They want you to quit paying attention and to give up, so the chaos and confusion continues to be profitable for them and their tight-knit, greedy clique. It’s okay to take a break if you need to maintain your sanity, but stay woke and informed, remain active and involved and above all, vote in every election and encourage as many people as you can to come along and raise their voice for what is right.
Whether you tune out or not, stay tuned in to the music that speaks to you and helps you escape from or rise above the constant barrage of confusion and disorder. For the most part, the music that touches you and moves you doesn't care where you're from, how old you are, your political affiliation or how you identify yourself privately or publicly to the world. Listen to what you love, not just what you’re conditioned by repetition to love. Be an active not a passive listener of music. Keep your ear to the ground and listen for songs that surprise you and summon you from the bubble of the musical routine. These songs can easily be found via YouTube, Spotify, SoundCloud, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, local live music venues, and as buried and forgotten tunes on film and television soundtracks by established, independent, and unsigned and amateur do-it-yourself musicians.
You can stay tuned in by listening to the five suggested songs below. Some you may know and others may be new to you. If they surprise you or rescue you from your music routine, add them to your music library and play them forward for others to hear. Fight the chaos and the noise surrounding you by staying active and staying tuned in to the music.
